EHOA and Keep Kicking On prizes presented

During the excitement of the 2019 Mitsubishi Motors Cup prize giving on Wednesday 1 May, there were other winners receiving their converted awards in recognition of their fantastic achievements, alongside the presentation of the championship trophies.

Thanks to the support of Shearwater Insurance Services, the highest placed Event Horse Owners Association (EHOA) members in each class were presented with a Silver Salver, £200 cheque, a jacket and rosette. In the BE100, Oxford’s Jo Hales took home the prizes with her homebred 11 year old mare Dawn Chorus after finishing in second place on a score of 25.8 penalties.

Emma Sutton from Dinas Powys, Vale of Glamorgan, claimed the prize in the BE90 after a double clear on her own 14 year old gelding Coltstown Glider, saw her complete on her dressage score of 26.2 penalties to place third.

In the BE90, Esther Anderson (Jims Patch  11th place) and  Isabella Stagg (Quite a Compliment 13th place), and Katie Thomas (Cefnpant Iolo 8th place) and Florrie Dyer (Bernhard III 13th place) in the BE100, also received a jacket and rosette for the second and third highest placed EHOA members respectively in each class.

Each year the Keep Kicking On trophy is bestowed to the highest placed rider aged over 40 years old in each class, and in the BE90, Johnny and Lucie Hustler presented Amanda Bettle the prize after finishing in sixth place on Ysgwynfawr Fergus, and in the BE100 it went to Kate Welch following her seventh place on Dicali OHZ.
