In front of the beautiful Badminton House, the highest placed members of the Event Horse Owners Association (EHOA) were rewarded for their performances at the 2018 Mitsubishi Motors Cup.
Kindly sponsored by Shearwater Insurance, the top placed EHOA member is presented with a silver salver, £200, rosette and a jacket, second and third EHOA members in each section also took home a Shearwater Jacket and every EHOA member that completed the Mitsubishi Motors Cup also received a rosette.
Alyson Parker and her experienced campaigner J J Malone (pictured) claimed the highest placed EHOA member in the BE100 class and made the 2018 event her seventh completion of the Mitsubishi Motors Cup. As well as placing fifth overall on a score of 32.4 penalties, Alyson collected the Keep Kicking On trophy as the highest placed rider aged over 40.
Anna Martin took the second placed EHOA member on her own and Hente Dorhout Mees’ Sannanvalley Classic after their performance in the BE100 that secured them eighth place and 13th placed Tracey Crane received the prize for the third highest EHOA member on board Big Eric.
In the BE90 Stuart Nie and Ponte Vecchio lifted the EHOA award after they completed the event on a score of 34.2 penalties for ninth place. Lauren Collard came in as the second highest EHOA member on Orions Brite Spark with their 14th place finish and sitting just outside the top 20 in 23 on a score of 38.6, Michelle Patrick and Dream On Porsche claimed the third highest placed member.
The Event Horse Owners Association is run by owners for owners. It was founded 20 years ago by owners of eventing horses with the aim for owners to be recognised, with all stakeholders of eventing and the media, as part of the main constituents of the sport.
They host hospitality marquees at many major events, including Mitsubishi Motors Badminton and many others nationwide. There is also an Owners Dinner at Badminton and Annual End of Season Awards Dinner.
