All the regional finals for 2012 have now been completed, so we have the names of the qualified horses and riders to take part in the 2013 Championships (see Entries). When combined with the postponed 2012 Championships this will give us a total of around 250 competitors, so we will be running part of the Show Jumping together with a lot of the dressage on Wednesday 1st May, with one long day of cross country on Thursday 2nd May. Entries for all the Championships will open on about 19th March – details as usual in the BE magazine and online.
Competitors will be delighted to hear that L.H. Woodhouse is again able to let us have the modern ‘barn’ stables. As before, horses and riders are welcome to stay on after the Grassroots Championships finish; riders will receive complimentary admission to the international event and will be able to exercise their horses on the miles of tracks around the Badminton Estate (though not in the main Park!!).
The cross country course will be very similar to that prepared for 2012, although some of the portables will change as Willis Bros. have sold them! James Willis will be finalising his plans before Christmas, for the approval of the new BE Steward, Patricia Clifton and Technical Adviser Sarah Verney.
