Blogger Amy Dixon returned to the Mitsubishi Motors Grassroots Championships this year with her new ride ‘Ruby’ after Championship domination here in 2010 with her mare Toga.
It was a real championship track and the long gallop towards the house felt magical, it was just awesome. The cross country had caused a load of problems over the day but Ruby made it feel easy – love love love her!
We had an unfortunate two rails show jumping as the wind really got to her so she was a little tense in the arena. It was such a shame as we would have been fifth but I was very pleased overall with a 29 dressage and clear round a pretty tough track.
Thanks to everyone for all their lovely comments and support in the build up to the Championships. It’s been a dream to come back to the grounds of Badminton and Ruby has done me proud. Many thanks also to Badminton and British Eventing for again hosting this wonderful competition, Mitsubishi Motors for sponsoring and making it possible and The Willis Brothers for building the best cross country course I’ve ever ridden.
Good luck to everyone competing in the four star this weekend!
