Now the 2014 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials has drawn to a thrilling close, what better time to reflect on the Mitsubishi Motors Grassroots Championships, a competition which gave riders and their horses a true Championship test on the eve of the world famous international event last week.
The winning BE90 round came from the dressage leader was Southampton-based Zoe Symes who works as in the Oil and Gas recruitment sector riding her own bay gelding Serendipity IV – Dippy to his friends.
Earlier in the competition, Alice Lumley from County Durham was crowned the 2014 BE100 Champion at Badminton with her ride Foxwood Brown Sugar. This combination leaped up the Championship leader board to go from 11th place after dressage in to the Champions spot after a very influential cross country round in a class which had 42 completions, seven eliminations as well as five horses retiring on course.
